Die See – Theatre Poster
2025
It’s drawn with the drama of theatre, but secretly shaped by the way I once saw epic struggle — in old game menus and fantasy novels, where even the flawed felt noble.
A wild, messy love letter to drama.
This poster was made for a stormy theatre piece called Die See — and everything about it is swirling. The composition, the characters, the sea. I illustrated the entire cast mid-chaos: posing, pulling, pleading, fighting. Each one caught in their most emotional moment, like a paused opera on a cliff.
At the top, Miss Rafi stretches her arms out — not in peace, but in tension. She’s surrounded by demands: a priest pointing to scripture, a merchant stealing from her handbag, a woman tugging at her skirt. And below? Poor Colin is sinking into the sea, while his fiancée turns away, hair blown sideways, a single tear clinging to her cheek. Around them: waves, wind, theatre.
I drew this piece to feel loud and lyrical, like you can almost hear it scream. It’s saturated with colour, filled with exaggerated figures, and shaped like a crescendo. One glance and it should feel like a whole act is already happening. (╥﹏╥)
